ABOUT
ACIRC
ACirc is a non-profit organization founded in May 2013 by a group of artists from different disciplines, in order to promote circus and street-arts in Puerto Rico.
The purpose of the organization is to promote and publicize the artistic work of circus and street-arts, through various initiatives, including artistic and cultural activities, such as festivals, workshops and educational exchanges, among others.
This union and meeting of artists arises from the need to create a physical and vital space for the circus and street-arts in Puerto Rico. We seek to merge and strengthen the arts and culture by bringing together different artists, companies and individuals who are inside and outside the country and who share the same approach.
MISSION.
Promote the development of contemporary circus, street-arts and arts in general by offering companies and artists spaces for the expression and dissemination of their work, bringing these expressions closer to a greater number of people with an emphasis on communities with a limited cultural offer, promoting the use of public and disused spaces through the format of street-arts.
Create a corporation of high artistic standards that promote the culture of the circus, street-arts and art in general, facilitating spaces for education, research and creation. That the cultural sector generates research and creation projects in a sustained manner, with broad international exchange and sustainable conditions for artists and cultural agents, becoming a pillar of the country's social development.
